SAF Mission
The Society of American Foresters (SAF) is the national scientific and educational organization representing the forestry profession in the United States. Founded in 1900 by Gifford Pinchot, it is the largest professional society for foresters in the world. We are a nonprofit organization. SAF members include natural resource professionals in public and private settings, researchers, CEOs, administrators, educators, and students.
Intermountain Section of SAF
The Intermountain SAF is a part of the Society of American Foresters and includes over 200 members that reside in Utah, Nevada, southern Idaho, and western Wyoming. There are three Chapters and two student Chapters in the Intermountain Society: Nevada, Utah, and Snake River (southern Idaho and northwest Wyoming), and Utah State University Student and University of Nevada-Reno Student Chapters.
